Grow a Garden Crops

What Are Crops?

Crops are the heart of Grow a Garden. They are plants that you grow from seeds to earn the primary in-game currency, Sheckles. Each crop has unique characteristics, including its purchase price, growth time, and potential selling price.

How to Grow Crops

  1. Buy Seeds: Purchase seeds from a vendor like Sam's Shop, from special event shops, or obtain them from Seed Packs.
  2. Plant Seeds: Click on an empty plot in your garden to plant your chosen seed.
  3. Wait & Water: Crops take time to grow. You can use a watering can or sprinklers to speed up the process.
  4. Harvest: Once fully grown, click on the crop to harvest it. The harvested item will appear in your inventory.
  5. Sell for Profit: Take your harvested crops to a selling point to convert them into Sheckles.

Understanding Crop Tiers

Crops are categorized into tiers that indicate their rarity, growth time, and profitability. Higher-tier crops are typically more expensive to purchase as seeds, take longer to grow, but yield significantly more Sheckles when harvested and sold at Steven’s Stand.

  • Common: These crops are the most accessible, with lower seed costs and shorter growth times. They offer modest profits, ideal for beginners. Examples include Carrots and Strawberries, which are often available at Sam’s Shop for Sheckles.
  • Uncommon: Slightly rarer than Common crops, these have moderate seed costs and growth times, providing better profits. They may occasionally appear in Sam’s Shop or Seed Packs from daily quests.
  • Rare: These crops are less frequently available, with higher seed costs and longer growth times. They yield significantly more Sheckles, especially with mutations. Examples include Sunflowers and Grapes, which are great for repeated harvests.
  • Legendary: Highly sought-after crops with expensive seeds and extended growth periods. They offer substantial profits, particularly when mutated. Examples include Moon Mango and Hive Fruit, known for high-value yields.
  • Mythical: Extremely rare crops with very high seed costs, often requiring Robux or special events to obtain. They have long growth times but provide massive Sheckles, especially with mutations like Shocked or Chocolate. An example is the Candy Blossom, available during events.
  • Divine: Among the rarest crops, with seeds rarely stocked in Sam’s Shop (e.g., 1% chance for Mushroom seeds) or obtained via exclusive Seed Packs. They have the highest base prices, like the Mushroom, which sells for a premium.
  • Prismatic: The pinnacle of crop rarity, typically unobtainable through regular gameplay. These crops are exclusive to limited-time events, admin access, or premium purchases like the Super Seed or Exotic Seed Pack. They command astronomical prices, especially with stacked mutations. No Prismatic crops are currently obtainable in standard gameplay.

Best Crop Seeds in Grow a Garden

Choosing the right crop depends on your current goals—whether you're just starting out or aiming for maximum late-game profit.

Best for Early Game

Focus on low-cost, fast-growing crops to build your initial Sheckle supply.

  • Carrot: Very cheap to start and provides a solid return, perfect for your first few harvests.
  • Strawberry: An excellent multi-harvest option for early passive income. Plant a few and let them generate Sheckles over time.

Best for Sheckle Profit (Mid to Late Game)

These crops offer the highest selling prices, making them ideal for serious farming once you can afford the initial investment.

  • Mushroom: Boasts an incredibly high minimum sell value, making it one of the most profitable single-harvest crops available in Sam's Shop.
  • Sunflower (Flower Pack): If you have access to the Flower Seed Pack, the Sunflower provides a top-tier return on investment.
  • Beanstalk / Ember Lily: As Prismatic-tier crops, they represent the pinnacle of regular shop earnings, though they require a significant upfront cost.
